WEDDING RING FOUND!

I have a little update on my wedding ring situation. In this post, I talked about my original wedding ring and that it was my mom's when she was married to my dad. I talked about how I lost it and was searching for a new ring to replace it.

Since then, I did purchase one of the rings I talked about it that post. I contacted Claire Kinder and asked her if I could order the ring without the diamond. She was very helpful and said she would be happy to do that for me. Then we got a little tax refund check from the government and decided to go for it. The ring arrived and it was just as dainty and lovely as it seemed online. I was happy with my delicate ring that I could wear every day. (I still take it off at night, do you?)

Then I got a call from my very dear friend Jenny. You remember her, she just got married. (more pics of that day to come) She had found my original wedding ring! It turns out that I had stashed my ring in the zipper pouch of my purse one night. I used to do this all the time when I got tired of wearing my ring. Then, without realizing it, I gave that purse to Jenny. I am always purging old stuff since I don't like to collect stuff and Jenny is always taking it off of my hands since she is more of a collector of stuff.

It just took her months to eventually open the zipper pouch but when she did, there it was! I may have jumped up and down when she called.

So now I have 2 rings. I still wear the smaller one daily but now I add the big ring when I go out. In the end, I'm actually glad that I lost my ring because I probably never would have bought the second ring if I hadn't. And I'm happy to have a ring that I can wear on a daily basis. So aside from the months of berating myself for being irresponsible and losing my ring, I am a happy girl.

  1. Glad you found your ring! I can only imagine the sentimental value it must hold for you. In answer to your question, no, I never take my wedding ring off unless it's to use my hands in something nasty, like mixing up meatloaf. :-)

  2. Sometimes, we tend to lose something for a short while for us to appreciate it even more. After all, absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? In love, and in life, when lose something of value, we’ll go to extreme lengths to get it back. I’m really happy that you found your original wedding ring! :)
