Hopefully you know that running your own business isn't all rainbows and butterflies. And if you didn't know, then I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you that there are boring details around every turn. Even when you're embarking on something new and fun, there are boring details to attend to.
I have been diligently working on a new album focused on laser cuts and while the design process is fun sometimes, it can also be rough. I have good days and bad days. I'll design something I think is great or come up with a fabulous new idea only to hit a creative block the next day that will sideline me for a week.
And in the midst of all that creative up and down, there are the details. The image above is of sheets of information for my invitations. Each invitation suite has to have a cohesive event and family. They can't get married in Chicago and then have their reception in New York. I have to put together an entire family and scenario that works for each event.
So I print out lists of names, streets, cities, and surnames so that I can put together cohesive suites for people that could actually exist. It's tedious and not that much fun and quite frankly no one else may notice it but me but I think details are important.
