MY FANCY WEEKEND AT THE FOX
This past weekend, a couple of my good friends got married and they did it with style. They were wed at The Fabulous Fox Theater with a 1930's glamor theme. My friend Jenny and I tried to adhere to the theme as best we could. She scored that great beaded number at a consignment shop. I had a little bit of trouble finding a dress I liked so I decided to do something a little crazy and I rented one from Rent The Runway. I knew I didn't need a formal gown hanging in my closet so renting was a great option for me.
It is really scary because you only get the dress for 4 days (you can pay more to keep it longer) so the dress arrived Friday. They send you 2 sizes of your choosing so you can make sure you get the right fit. They also have tons of real reviews for each dress on the site so you can get a good idea of how it should fit on you. Lastly, if neither of the dresses fit, you can send them right back and only have to pay for shipping. Mine fit, luckily, and looked great. The overall experience was wonderful and only a little terrifying.
It has become a tradition in my group to perform a dance number for the happy couple which is why we're wearing gold hot pants in the last picture.
Finally, my little sister did mine and Jenny's hair and makeup. We're very low maintenance girls so it's great to have someone like her around to make us fancy every now and again.
