I don't know about you but I have a lot of new moms is my life. Many of my friends are having babies or working on it. I do love a good baby shower and buying adorable little clothes for them but I want to be more helpful. I like to do something to actually help the new little family get along since I am not available for babysitting. Newborns can be pretty intimidating. Or is that just me?
Anyways, I decided that the best thing I could do to help my ladies out is to make them some food since they probably don't have a lot of time to make a home cooked meal. So this past weekend, my girlfriend Jenny and I made two lasagnas and took them to 2 new families.
I used Ree Drummond's Best Lasagna Ever recipe. She's the Pioneer Woman ya'll and I figured she knows her way around some comfort food. Now I can't testify to how good this tastes since I don't eat meat and I gave them away but if you read the comments of her post, you'll be convinced. The other thing I liked about this recipe is that it dosen't have any fancy ingredients. It was super easy to make.
We just made everything up until the actual cooking in the oven part. Then we wrapped it up in foil, wrote the cooking directions down and delivered the cheesy goodness. We thought this would allow them to cook immediately if they were hungry or freeze if they wanted to cook it another day.
