Tell us about yourself.
My name is Maartje, but I usually go by Tizz. I'm 26 years old and from Holland. I have a boyfriend, Per, who's 22. Due to chronic migraines I haven't been able to finish college, and I ended up on disability.

What do you make?
I made kawaii, kitsch, retro & rockabilly inspired jewelry, accessories, plush, housewares,...anything really!

What inspires you & what is your creative process?
I love anything retro, and that's definitely an inspiration for me. I don't really have process I stick to. Sometimes I just sit down with all my supplies, and start making things. Other times I have something in mind and then start looking for the supplies.
Where is your studio and how has it evolved? What is your plan for it in the future?
I wish I could call it a studio, but all I have is a desk! It has evolved though, I used to have a kitchen table ;) I also have tons of little Ikea drawers that keep all of my packaging and supplies. My plans for the future? A seperate craft room!

What tools & equipment do you use?
Your standard plyers for jewelry making of course, and E6000 glue and decoupage varnish.
What else do you do? Is this your full time gig?
Like I mentioned before, I'm on disability, so I have no other job. My crafting isn't full time either though, my sales aren't quite often enough for that yet!

What do you hope to get out of this, what are your goals?
I really hope I will be able to make a living with my shop, so I can get out of disability and have more freedom. I don't like depending on the disability to have an income.

How do you promote yourself?
I use Project Wonderful a lot, and all kinds of network sites, like all the NINGS, MySpace, LiveJournal, Facebook,...you name it. I also like hanging around in the Etsy & DaWanda forums!

Any tips for fellow crafters/artists?
Make things you love and would buy yourself. That way you will always have a coherent shop, even if you sell different things.
