We made the shelves ourselves and placed them low enough to act as a pseudo coffee table since we decided to not have one in the living room. They provide just enough space to hold a drink or two.

The drawing is by and of a good college friend. The lucky bamboo is the only plant I can keep alive.

The red couch was a gift from my dad in college and has been with me ever since. It's big enough for 2 grown people to nap comfortably. I think that having somewhere to hang your coats and keys is essential to not going crazy.

We bought the table at a thrift store and the stools were purchased later. The lamp is from Target and the picture frames are from IKEA. They have old pictures of family in them.

This area is supposed to be the dining room, but we decided to make it the "cafe" where you can relax with your coffee and read a book or play some music. We use it way more this way. The black vinyl couch was from my Mom's house. The art on the wall is from etsy and other artists. The guitar belongs to my boyfriend, the light fixture was already here and the pillows are from TJ Maxx.

My stepfather made the wine rack. The bookshelf was given to us by a friend.

My boyfriend got this oriental rug for high school graduation. The console was from my mom's house. The black leather chair is from my boyfriend's parents house. The wall color is golden cricket. (I can't remember which brand) We are snobby when it comes to hard wood floors and had these put in as soon as we could afford it.

My beloved Commuication Arts magazines which I received as a gift and can no longer afford. Magazine files I got at IKEA and screen printed.

The walls and cabinets were painted in an interesting pattern when we moved in. I painted the cabinets black to compliment the black couch and we added the fixtures from Home Depot.

I made the tiles pot holders and my friend Anita knitted the others for me this year for the holidays. We also received that huge pepper grinder as a gift.

The shelving and table are from IKEA. When I get the rest of the house cleaned up, I'll show it off too. I think this is enough for now. Tomorrow I'm going to be posting a new product I have been working on!
Perfect.
