VALENTINES GARLAND

I wanted to put together a simple last minute Valentine's Day project using readily available supplies. I made this with Martha Stewart supplies that I got at Wal-Mart. So no excuses, everyone can do this one!

Supplies:

Martha Stewart flags
Martha Stewart pink fuzzy letters
Martha Stewart 1/16" hole punch
string (bakers twine)
tape
scissors
ruler
pencil
tweezers
large needle

Directions:

Step 1. Pull out 10 pink flags, 9 white flags & 11 gold flags. Take 2 white flags, line them up side by side and tape them together (these are for the letters). Do the same to 2 pink flags, repeat with 2 more pink flags. Do the same with 3 gold flags and then 2 gold flags.

Step 3: Line up all your flags in the order you want them so that you can determine which flags will be higher and which will be lower. There will be a .5" difference between the higher and lower flags.

Step 4: On the flags that are going to be higher, measure .75" from the dip in the V cut out and draw a line. On the flags that are going to be lower, measure .25" from the dip and draw a line. This will ensure that your hole punches will be in line and keep your garland straight.

Step 5: Take the hole punch and punch 2 holes per flag along the lines drawn.

Step 6: Place the hearts & letters on the other side of the flags (not the side you drew the lines on). I used tweezers to make sure that I got the letters & hearts straight.

Step 7: Thread the needle with the string and string all your flags in the order you like.

and there you go, a lovely festive garland for the special occasion!
