BROWN SUGAR BRUSSEL SPROUTS

Okay, okay, not everyone likes brussel sprouts, but everyone likes brown sugar. Even if you think you don't like brussel sprouts, this recipe will change your mind. I originally got it from a mailer I received from The Fresh Market. I tried it once and was hooked. Now I make it a lot with minor variations depending on what I tend to have in my pantry. Try it my way or their way but just try it.

Ingredients:

1lb brussel sprouts, halved
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp pineapple juice
1 tsp siracha (rooster) sauce
salt & pepper to taste
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar

Directions:

1. Steam brussel sprouts over boiling water until tender, about 10-15 min

2. Heat oil and garlic over medium high heat until fragrant. Add brussel sprouts, pineapple juice, siracha, and salt. Stir until they begin to brown, about 5 min

3. Add balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Stir for a minute or two, remove from heat and serve.
