23 years old, Québec

At the age of 17, I first started to study biotech, quickly realizing it wasn't really my cup of tea. As I had always been attracted by visual arts and their social impact, I enrolled in an art program that aimed more specifically at cinema and hypermedias, during which I got acquainted with various film-making and writing techniques. Simultaneously (and by my own means, with material offered by my parents and teachers generous of their time), I developed my knowledge of numerical and traditional photography. I now live with my girlfriend (Isabelle) in the tiniest and coziest apartment in Quebec city suburbs, with an incredible number of guitars, house plants, yarn and art projects in progress...

I spend a lot of time at home, writing poetry and short scripts for eventual film projects, playing guitar, while my girlfriend is knitting for her Etsy shop. Other times we just leave on an outdoor expedition with my camera. My favourite subjects are places and objects that reflect the passage of time, or even decay, and induce a reflection on human action and its consequences on environment. I also love to find lost or forgotten objects and to photograph them in order to express the hypothetical feelings and emotions of their owners.

I'm currently working part time in a fast food restaurant, hoping that someday I won't need to anymore! At least the flexibility of my work schedules makes it easier to work on my art projects. My work (both photography and writing) was recently exposed with sculptures and music from two other local artists. My girlfriend helps me out with public relations and is always seeking for new artist calls, in order to help me get subventions or, who knows, entries for artist residency programs all around the world!
